The United States Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 6 (also referred to as ěThe Flag Code") specifies days when it is particularly appropriate to display the US Flag. Those days shown in bold in the table below are days that the flag should be flown at half-staff.

On December 18, 2001 President Bush signed Public Law No. 107-89 designating Patriot Day as September 11 to honor the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks. People of the United States are also asked to observe a moment of silence on that day in remembrance of the victims. In accordance with a Presidential Proclamation dated December 6, 2002 and Public Law 103-308 as amended by Congress.
How to dispose of the US Flag
When a flag is old, worn, tattered, or frayed and no longer is in a condition befitting a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed privately in a dignified matter, preferbly by burning. Many veteran and civic organizations, will properly dispose of the US flag at no cost to you. Please feel free to also drop it off at any one of our locations Arizona, Illinois or Minnesota.
